Viburnum Lantana - Wayfaring

Viburnum lantana, commonly known as the Wayfaring Tree, is a lovely flowering and berrying native shrub often found in hedgerows on chalkland in southern England.

It offers a long season of interest with dense heads of creamy flowers in spring, followed by red berries which ripen to black, and bright scarlet autumn foliage. Highly valued for wildlife, it provides nectar for pollinators and berries for birds and small mammals.

Can be trimmed as part of a mixed hedge in winter, or hard pruned in early spring if a denser shrub form is required.
