The UC4 treatment provides a projected lifespan of 15+ years, subject to appropriate installation and environmental conditions. The timber initially has a natural green treated appearance which will weather over time to honey brown and eventually silvery grey. UC4 Pressure Treatment

The UC4 pressure treatment process is designed for timber used in ground-contact applications. Preservative is deeply penetrated into the timber cells, providing long-lasting protection against fungal decay, insect attack and deterioration associated with water exposure.

The treated timber has a green colour when new. Over time, the colour naturally weathers through honey brown to silvery grey. If maintaining the original colour is preferred, a suitable timber stain or preservative can be applied in accordance with the product manufacturer's guidance.

Cutting & Installation

The gate posts can be cut to the required length using a circular saw, chainsaw or handsaw. Any freshly cut or exposed timber surfaces should be treated with a suitable wood preservative to maintain protection to the newly exposed timber.

Due to the substantial size and weight of these posts, suitable equipment and adequate manpower should be used when handling and installing them.
