Wire Gauge Guide

Wire gauge refers to the diameter or thickness of the wire. The higher the gauge number, the thinner the wire.

The standard 15-gauge wire is approximately 1.8mm thick, providing a strong and versatile option for fencing, animal enclosures and outdoor applications.

Hole Size Guide

25mm x 25mm apertures provide smaller openings and are particularly suitable for rabbit runs, chicken coops, small animal enclosures, garden fencing and crop protection.

50mm x 50mm apertures provide a larger opening while retaining the strength of welded mesh, making them suitable for larger animal fencing, dog fencing, security fencing, garden projects and general-purpose outdoor applications.

Galvanised & PVC Coating

The steel wire is protected with a galvanised zinc coating and green PVC layer. The galvanised coating helps protect the steel from corrosion, while the PVC coating provides an additional protective barrier against the elements.

The PVC coating also creates a smoother finish around the wire, making the mesh more suitable for use around animals, pets and in garden environments. Its green colour offers a more discreet and attractive appearance than plain metal mesh.

When the mesh is cut, newly exposed steel at the cut edge may be more vulnerable to corrosion. For enhanced long-term protection, protect cut ends with galvanising spray or suitable metal paint after cutting.
