Fencing Wire Tensioning Ratchet

Once the wire is fed through the ratchet, a spanner can be used to turn the spindle and gradually tension the line wire.

The ratchet's toothed spindle locks the wire under tension, helping prevent it from unwinding once the required tension has been achieved. Once the straining wire is taut, fencing mesh or plastic fencing can be attached using suitable clips, creating a neat, secure and properly tensioned fence.

How to Use

1. Secure the ratchet to the straining or anchor post.

2. Attach the straining line wire to the ratchet and feed it through the spindle.

3. Pull the wire through until it is reasonably taut.

4. Cut away excess wire as required.

5. Use a spanner to rotate the spindle and progressively tension the wire.

6. The toothed spindle helps lock the wire in position once tensioned.

7. Attach fencing mesh or netting to the tensioned line wire using suitable clips.
