Abies Nobilis - Noble Fir

Abies nobilis, commonly known as Noble Fir, is a majestic conifer originally from North America and introduced to Britain by the plant hunter David Douglas in 1830.

It is the largest of the true firs, hence the name ‘Noble’. This imposing tree has elegant, downward-sweeping blue-grey foliage and produces large cones freely, making it an outstanding specimen tree for parkland, woodland, and large gardens.

The Noble Fir is not normally pruned. Damaged branches can be tidied as required to maintain shape and tree health.
