Ideal for both professional landscapers and garden designers, these oak landscaping sleepers are suitable for creating raised beds, planters, lawn edging, patios, garden steps and sleeper retaining walls. Supplied untreated and rough sawn, they can be left to weather naturally, allowing the oak to develop an attractive silvery-grey finish, or they can be oiled or stained to maintain the timber's original colour or achieve your preferred appearance.

As these are fresh green oak sleepers, each piece will have its own natural character. Knots, splits, cracks, waney edges, colour variation and movement are all to be expected and are part of the beauty of this natural timber. Green oak is not kiln dried, so larger cracks and splits can occur as the timber naturally seasons. These sleepers are intended for landscaping applications and are not recommended for structural construction.

For installation, we recommend using suitable stainless steel sleeper screws when fixing oak sleepers. Angle brackets, flat connector plates and concrete base anchor brackets are also available for different installation requirements.

Important Product Information

Green oak is a natural, organic material and each sleeper will have its own unique appearance. Splits, cracks, knots, waney edges, movement and variations in colour and grain are natural characteristics of the product and should be expected. These characteristics are particularly common in fresh green oak as it naturally dries and seasons.

If left untreated, the oak will weather naturally to a silvery-grey colour. To help maintain the original colour of the timber, we recommend applying a suitable oak oil or stain, with ongoing maintenance as required.

Delivery: Two people are required to assist with unloading deliveries. Without two people present, delivery cannot be guaranteed.
