Herbal Ley – Legume & Herb Rich Sward 20kg

The GS4 / SAM3 / CSAM3 Herbal Ley Legume & Herb Rich Sward is a productive grassland seed mixture designed to establish a diverse forage sward for livestock, combining grasses, legumes and herbs in a single mixture. The formulation includes Perennial Ryegrass, Creeping Red Fescue, Meadow Fescue, Timothy and Cocksfoot alongside Red Clover, Sainfoin, Berseem Clover, Alsike Clover, Sweet Yellow Blossom Clover and Lucerne, together with four herb species.

The inclusion of legumes and herbs provides an alternative to a conventional grass-only sward, supporting productive forage while reducing reliance on inorganic fertiliser. The diverse species composition is also intended to support grassland resilience and soil health, with the formulation designed around benefits including drought resilience, soil structure, soil biology, carbon storage and long-term soil fertility. The stated flowering period is April to October.

Sow at 14kg per acre in late summer or early autumn, establishing the mixture in accordance with the requirements of the applicable environmental land management action. A 20kg pack provides approximately 1.43 acres of coverage at the recommended sowing rate. Always check the current requirements of the relevant SFI or Countryside Stewardship action before sowing.
