Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is a tall, aromatic perennial wildflower with delicate feathery foliage and clusters of yellow umbel flowers. Native to parts of the UK and naturalised across much of the country, it’s well-known for its sweet, aniseed-like scent and value to pollinators. The airy structure and height of Fennel make it a visually striking addition to wildflower meadows, herb gardens, and landscape schemes.

Its yellow flowers attract a wide range of beneficial insects, including hoverflies and bees, and its seeds are favoured by birds. Fennel thrives in well-drained soils in sunny locations and is often found on roadsides, grasslands, and coastal areas.

How to Sow & Preparation
Choose Site: Prefers full sun and well-drained soil.
