Feather Edge Board – Brown Treated

Brown Pressure Treated Feather Edge Boards are a popular choice for creating traditional closeboard fencing, providing a durable and versatile timber solution for garden and boundary fencing. The boards are designed to be fixed to arris rails to create a strong, overlapping fence panel, offering excellent privacy and a classic timber appearance. Their lightweight construction also makes them easy to handle, cut and install on site.

Each feather edge board is produced by taking an original 125mm x 22mm timber board and cutting it diagonally to create two feather edge boards. This produces a tapered profile, with a thicker edge of approximately 15mm that gradually reduces to approximately 6mm at the thinner edge. This is why the product is specified as 2ex (22mm), indicating that two feather edge boards are produced from the original 22mm thick board.

Manufactured from a pine/spruce mix and pressure treated for improved durability, these rough-sawn boards are suitable for exterior fencing applications. Available in 1.65m and 1.8m lengths, they are ideal for fencing contractors, landscapers and DIY customers constructing new closeboard fencing or replacing existing feather edge boards. The brown treated timber will naturally weather to a silvery-grey appearance over time; a suitable stain or preservative can be used annually to help maintain the original colour.
