Its unique design features two entrances: one at the rear against the tree trunk and one at the front, facilitating natural bat behavior. The domed roof and increased internal height allow bats to form clusters, promoting warmth and social interaction.

This bat box has proven highly successful with species such as the Noctule (Nyctalus noctula) and Bechstein's bat (Myotis bechsteinii), with documented instances of up to 28 bats and their young occupying a single box.
