This dual-variant product allows you to choose the correct nematode species depending on soil temperature and seasonal conditions:

Nemacontrol L (Steinernema kraussei) – performs in cool soils from 5°C, ideal for early and late season vine weevil control

Nemacontrol H (Heterorhabditis bacteriophora) – thrives in warmer soils (12–30°C), delivering strong control during peak larval activity

Both variants contain live infective juvenile nematodes that actively move through the soil, locate host larvae, and infect them. Once inside, they release symbiotic bacteria that kill the pest within 24–72 hours, stopping feeding and preventing further root damage.

By targeting the larval stage, Nemacontrol protects plant roots, prevents plant collapse, and breaks the vine weevil lifecycle before adult emergence.

How It Works (Mode of Action)

Nemacontrol nematodes are infective juvenile (third-stage) organisms that move through moist soil searching for host insects.

They enter larvae via natural openings or by penetrating the cuticle

Once inside, they release symbiotic bacteria

The bacteria rapidly multiply and kill the host (typically within 24–48 hours for H)

Nematodes reproduce inside the host and release new infective juveniles into the soil

This creates an ongoing cycle of pest control while conditions remain favourable.
