GT PP30 30mm Ground Reinforcement Grid

GT PP30 30mm Grid is a heavy-duty permeable plastic ground reinforcement system designed to create stable, hard-wearing surfaces for driveways, car parks, pedestrian routes and access areas. Supplied in white and sold by the square metre, each square metre comprises three interlocking 580 x 580mm grids. The simple interlocking design makes PP30 quick and straightforward to handle and install, while creating a robust cellular surface that helps keep gravel securely contained.

Designed primarily for gravel reinforcement, PP30 offers excellent aggregate retention, helping prevent gravel from spreading, migrating or becoming displaced under regular traffic. The open-cell structure can also support healthy grass growth, while the grids are compatible with resin-bound products for alternative decorative finishes. For gravel applications, a mixed-size 5–15mm angular gravel is recommended to provide effective cell filling and a stable finished surface.

PP30 has been tested to 500 tonnes per m², making it suitable for a wide range of applications when installed correctly and on appropriate ground conditions. This includes domestic driveways and parking areas as well as locations that may occasionally experience heavier vehicle movements, such as oil deliveries or septic tank collections. Its UV-stabilised construction and extensive mesh footprint provide a durable, versatile ground reinforcement solution for both domestic and commercial landscaping projects.

Gravel Retention

One of the key benefits of PP30 is its ability to lock gravel securely within the cellular structure. This helps create a more stable and attractive finished surface while reducing aggregate movement under traffic.

For best results, PP30 is designed to be filled with mixed-size angular gravel with a nominal particle size of 5–15mm. The angular shape provides effective interlock within the cells and contributes to a stable finished surface.

Grass & Resin-Bound Applications

Although PP30 is particularly suited to gravel reinforcement, its cellular structure can also promote healthy grass growth where a natural grass finish is required. The grid can also be filled with resin-bound products, providing additional flexibility for decorative and hard-wearing landscaping schemes.

Installation

PP30 consists of three interlocking sections per square metre, allowing the grid system to be assembled quickly across the prepared area. Once installed, the cells should be filled with the appropriate material for the chosen finish.

Correct installation and suitable ground conditions are essential to achieving the stated load-bearing performance. Where the surface will be exposed to heavy vehicles or significant loading, the installation method and supporting ground conditions should be assessed carefully.
