GT Grass Reinforcement Mesh GR10 is a strong, permanent grass reinforcement mesh designed to protect existing grass areas from wear, rutting and mud caused by smaller vehicles and high pedestrian footfall. The 10mm oscillated mesh structure provides reinforcement while allowing grass to grow through and become intertwined with the mesh, helping create a stable, natural-looking grassed surface. It is an excellent alternative to impermeable paving where maintaining a green, natural appearance is important.

GR10 is particularly suited to domestic grass driveways, car parking areas, overflow parking, grass verges and pedestrian access routes. It is quick and cost-effective to install directly over an existing, stable grass surface, with no soil removal or excavation required. Its slip-resistant design helps improve surface safety, while the mesh can visually disappear as the grass regrows through it. GR10 is also suitable for SuDS Source Control applications, helping provide a more environmentally conscious alternative to conventional hard surfacing.

For best results, GR10 should be installed on suitable, free-draining existing grass and firmly secured using suitable U-pins. The grass must be allowed to grow through and establish within the mesh before the area is trafficked. We recommend allowing the grass to be mown at least two to three times before use. Performance and load-bearing capacity depend on ground conditions, traffic frequency and correct installation.

Installation Guidance

GR10 is designed for straightforward installation over an existing, stable grass surface. Roll the mesh out over the prepared grass and secure it firmly using suitable 170mm x 70mm x 6mm steel U-pins.

Allow sufficient time for the grass to grow through and become established within the mesh. This interlocking of grass and mesh provides much of the finished surface's strength and integrity. Avoid trafficking the area too early, as premature use can compromise performance and potentially result in sinking or smearing. The grass should generally have been mown two to three times before the area is brought into use.

The suitability of grass reinforcement mesh depends on factors including soil type, drainage, traffic frequency and vehicle type. GR10 is best suited to existing, free-draining grass areas.
