The problem

In the spring of 2012, Green-tech were asked to help with an exciting new project being specified by Martin Woolley Landscape Architects. The project involved creating a sustainable roof top garden for the Chancellor’s Court, part of the University of Leeds.

As it was a roof top garden, soil was an issue for the architects. They needed soil that was light in weight but also nutrient-rich to ensure successful growth.

The solution

Green-tech were able to provide the perfect solution – a bespoke soil mix which was very light and had a high nutrient content.

Green-tech produce and deliver organic top soil ideal for planting, turfing and landscaping, known as Green-tree Topsoil. Manufactured using organic compost and overburdened sand from quarries, our high quality top soil has been recognised across the UK and awarded the Green Apple award. This is awarded to companies carrying out projects that enhance the environment.
