Covamat Plus™ Erosion Control Rolls
Covamat Plus™ offers a erosion control blanket for slope stabilisation that can be 100% coir or straw matting, pre seeded or non seeded to help establish vegetation to prevent erosion. The Covamat Plus™ is a 10-15mm thick quilted straw and/or coir mats with added fertiliser, micro-organisms, mulches and a choice of seeds incorporated during manufacture. The Covamat Plus organic bio-degradable Coir erosion control blanket incorporating standard and specified seed mixes suitable for various soil and climatic conditions. Covamat Plus™ improves poor soil conditions with the addition of organic fertiliser and micro-organisms. Giving protection against surface erosion. It is also available in different fibre combinations and reinforced meshes for short, medium and long-term degradation (Up to 36months). Specially designed for: freshly-soiled inherently stable embankments, new slope cuttings, lining new water-courses, balancing ponds, facing reinforced soil slopes, lake edgings, protection of natural monuments, establishing wild flowers and road ditching.

Type 1: 100% straw blanket suitable for slopes up to 30°
Type 2: 50% straw / 50% coir blanket suitable for slopes up to 45°
Type 3: 100% coir fibre suitable for slopes over 45°
Once the Covamat Plus has been laid and irrigated, the dehydrated and granulated fertiliser material serves as a natural slow-release nutrient source.

Dependent on application and site conditions various seed mixes are available (see table) or your site specific seed mix can be incorporated (minimum 500m2).

Seedmix 1A:
Low performing • non forage • specially for flood endangered areas and steep slopes, dikes and coastal stripes • excellent sodforming and erosion protective • strong root development • also salt resistant
Seedmix 2A:
Standard fresh and moist ground • low maintenance • strong root development • erosion protective • also salt resistant Seedmix 2B: For dry and stony underground • strong root development • erosion protection • also de-icing salt-resistant
Seedmix 1C:
As per seed mix 1A • with additional clover for poor soil conditions • most widely used mix
Seedmix 2C:
As per seed mix 2A • with additional clover for poor soil conditions
Seedmix 1P:
For especially poor soil conditions • soils with vegetation establishment problems • erosion protection • strong root development and ground cover • de-icing salt resistant
