Green-tech’s New Initiative to Support BALI Chalk Fund
November marks two years since Green-tech launched its new range of specialist tree anchoring kits at Futurescape exhibition.
Developed in partnership with Anchor Systems (International) Ltd, the leading manufacturer of ground anchoring systems; the tree anchoring kits have been well received and installed in many projects throughout the UK.
The range has recently been extended to include a Drop-Man anchoring kit and a large tree securing system which is designed for trees outside of the standard range. Each anchor is capable of holding loads of up to 45 tonnes and can be used in multiples.
Green-tech is continually helping to support education and training in the landscape sector and to celebrate the success of their anchor range they have launched a new initiative. For every anchor order over £500 placed during December 2019 and January 2020, Green-tech will donate £25 to the BALI Chalk Fund, which supports education and training in the landscape sector.
Established in 1975 in memory of BALI founder member Geoffrey Chalk, the BALI Chalk Fund provides funding for skills development across the landscape industry. Trustees comprise past and current BALI members whose role it is to identify industry needs that meet the Fund’s criteria to support and develop innovative ways to deliver appropriate solutions.
To date, the BALI Chalk Fund has facilitated the development of industry training materials, awarded travel scholarships to enable young landscapers to learn from their counterparts overseas, provided training prizes for the winners of the national finals of the WorldSkills UK Landscape Gardening competition and supported land-based colleges by providing awards for outstanding achievement to students on landscape-related courses. The Fund is currently helping to support the development of an industry student enrichment programme.
Richard Kay, Green-tech’s Chairman comments,
“It’s important that companies put back into the industry wherever they can. We all benefit from a workforce that is skilled and remains current. The BALI Chalk Fund is a fantastic initiative that has been helping the industry for over 40 years; I am delighted that Green-tech is able to give a little back.”
Richard Gardiner, Trustee of the BALI Chalk fund adds,
“The Trustees of the BALI Chalk Fund are delighted and very grateful that Green-tech have created this great opportunity to support the fund, and in turn the wider landscape industry, I’m always impressed by Green-tech’s innovative and dynamic approach to business and this is yet another fine example.”
