Green-tech staff pass the National Plant Specification
At the end of July, two of the Green-tech specification team successfully passed the National Plant Specification (NPS) course that they attended at Coles nurseries in Leicester.
The National Plant Specification was designed by the Horticultural Trades Association and the Landscape Institute back in 1997. It was created to act as a simple set of guidelines for anyone involved in the in the design, specification, purchasing, handling or management of plants for landscaping schemes.
Coles Nurseries, the UK’s largest grower of trees and shrubs are offering training courses in the Specification in a bid to promote and increase awareness of the NPS.
Barry Browne and Richard Wexham who work within the specification arm of Green-tech known as GT Specifier successfully passed the one-day course which is accredited to accredited to NVQ level 2 (1 Unit).
Commenting on the course Barry Browne said,
“This was a really interesting day and will prove useful for us when working with landscape architects and specifiers to accurately plan planting densities, numbers, and planting costs. The NPS is fast becoming adopted in the industry and is well on its way to becoming best practice.Well done to Coles for taking a lead in this area.”
